Bone Cancer: Symptoms And Treatments

Bone cancer is the rarest cancer in the world that begins in the bone. bone cancer is a growth of cells that start in a bone. This type of cancer begins in any bone but  Bone cancer mainly hits your thigh bone or upper arm bone. Cancer that starts in the bone is the rarest disease. Different types of bone cancers exist. Some types of cancer mostly happen in children. Other types happen mostly in adults. The correct cause of bone cancer is frequently unknown. But there are several factors including, previous cancer treatment, inherited conditions, height, other bone conditions, such as Paget’s disease of the bone. 

In this disease of bone is a chronic condition that causes bones to grow larger and weaker than normal. Common bone cancer treatments include surgery, radiation,and chemotherapy. Some people with bone cancer have no symptoms other than feeling a painless lump. For others, a variety of symptoms can develop. The most common signs for bone cancer symptoms include: pain (usually worse at night or during activity), unexplained swelling, difficulty moving around, feeling extra tired, weight loss and fever. Persistent bone pain that gets worse over time and continues into the night, Swelling and redness over a bone. Which can make movement difficult if the affected bone is near a joint.weak bone that breaks (fractures) more easily than normal.

Signs Of Bone Cancer

Bone pain – Bone pain is the most common sign of bone cancer, and many more detectable as the tumor gets bigger. In the early stage the pain only happens at night, or when the patient is working. As the cancer develops the pain is unexplained. Bone pain feels different than joint pain or muscle pain. Bone pain also tends to last longer.

Swelling or lump– Swelling or lump can be symptoms of bone cancer. In the case of tumors that develop in the soft tissue nearby the affected bone. The area where the bone pain is restricted may begin to show signs of swelling, or a lump or mass may be present. The lump may be visible and touchable, or it may be dipper in the body and not visible on the skin surface.

Bone fractures- Bone metastasis can weaken bones. This puts your bones at risk for breaking. In some cases, a fracture is the first sign of metastasis. The most common sites where break long bones of the arms and legs.

  • Cancer treatments

Radiation therapy for cancer and some kind of chemotherapy medicines used to treat cancer may increase the risk of bone cancer.
